The focus of this workshop is experimentation and play<\/strong>– both integral parts of the creative process. Sometimes the best results emerge when we are relaxed and enjoying the process without the weight of expectation; it is in these moments of spontaneity that we discover novel shapes and forms<\/strong> that breathe life into our work.<\/p>\n

We start at the wheel, throwing<\/strong> a variety of forms then work to put them together to create interesting shapes, sometimes functional, sometimes purely decorative. In the process<\/strong> we will learn not only new forms of construction<\/strong>, but also how to hone your eye for composition,.<\/p>\n

Day one: I will talk about composition, give a demonstration on construction, then you will throw a variety of simple forms.<\/p>\n

Day 2: trimming, experimenting and playing with how to put the pieces together to create a dynamic composition.<\/p>\n

Day 3: the finishing touches<\/p>\n

This masterclass takes place during ‘The Great Ceramics Summer Event’ in Duffel, Belgium We work outdoors under a luxurious stretch tent while enjoying the beautiful green surroundings We also have lunch outdoors.
