SMELT glaze Talking to the moon

The glazes from SMELT were developed by ceramicist and ceramics instructor Nora Nuyts.

These glazes have proven their worth for years in her courses. They are exceptionally stable and rarely disappoint.

They perform best at Cone 6 (1222-1240°C) but do not show extreme run-off behavior at slightly higher temperatures (up to Cone 8).

The only key factor for success is the thickness of the glaze layer. That’s why we developed a free mini-course for beginner ceramicists, ensuring they’ll never be disappointed when opening the kiln.

With a 600-gram bag, you can make 1.2 kilos of brushable glaze.
